Position Summary
The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for growing Ex Novo Brewing’s presence in both on- and off-premise markets while serving as the primary point of contact for our distributor partners. This role bridges sales execution, distributor management, inventory awareness, forecasting, and market-facing marketing campaigns to ensure our beer and non-alcoholic products are in the right places, at the right time, and supported by thoughtful, effective programming.
This role owns sales-driven marketing campaigns outside of social media, working closely with the Creative Director on content development while independently driving campaign strategy, execution, and follow-through in the market.
This position does not include brewing or production responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Account Management
- Manage and grow on-premise and off-premise accounts, including bars, restaurants, retailers, and key chain partners
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase distribution, velocity, and brand awareness
- Conduct regular account visits, tastings, staff trainings, and promotional support
- Work closely with accounts to understand their needs and position the right products
- Track sales performance and adjust strategy as needed to meet revenue goals
Distributor Management & Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for distributors and wholesaler partners
- Manage distributor execution, including placements, pricing, programming, and inventory levels
- Conduct regular distributor meetings and performance reviews
- Collaborate with distributors on forecasts, market visits, and regular check-ins
- Ensure alignment between distributor activities and company sales and marketing objectives
- Create and present an Annual Business Plan for each distributor
Marketing Campaigns & Market Programming
Own and drive sales-focused marketing campaigns outside of social media, including:
- Seasonal and limited-release launches
- Distributor and retail programming
- On-premise activations and promotions
- Events, tastings, and brand partnerships
- Trade-facing materials and incentives
Additional responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the Creative Director on campaign concepts, messaging, and creative assets
- Maintaining ownership of campaign execution, timelines, and follow-through
- Translating sales goals and market opportunities into clear, actionable campaign plans
- Coordinating with distributors and key accounts to ensure proper in-market execution
- Measuring campaign effectiveness using sales data, velocity, and distributor feedback
- Refining future efforts based on performance
- Ensuring brand consistency and quality across all market-facing materials and activations
Production Forecasting
- Provide clear, realistic sales forecasts to guide production planning
- Monitor sales velocity and seasonal trends
- Communicate upcoming needs, potential risks, and opportunities to the operations team
- Help prevent out-of-stocks and excess inventory through proactive planning
Inventory Management
- Oversee finished goods inventory across the brewery, distributors, and key accounts
- Monitor inventory aging, rotations, and depletion rates
- Support inventory planning around launches, events, and seasonal shifts
- Help keep beer fresh and moving in the market
Reporting & Coordination
- Track and report sales data, KPIs, distributor performance, and campaign outcomes
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, account records, pricing information, and promotional calendars
- Support budgeting and planning efforts related to sales, distribution, and marketing initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all applicable alcohol regulations related to sales and distribution
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in craft beer or beverage alcohol sales
- Strong understanding of the three-tier system
- Experience executing or managing sales-driven marketing campaigns
- Comfort managing distributor relationships and working in the field
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives
- Clear, collaborative communicator across creative, operations, and sales teams
- Passion for craft beverages and supporting an independent brewery

What This Role Does Not Include
- Brewing or cellar operations
- Direct production or packaging responsibilities
- Ownership of social media channels or day-to-day social posting
COMPENSATION: $75k-$85k
